As a writing workshop instructor with a decade of experience in higher education, I approach each project with curiosity. Since every book greatly benefits from developmental editing, I discover ways to improve good stories to great ones. Together, we’ll optimize the reader’s experience by clarifying your theme and ensuring your content is on point and memorable. The goal is to create an organic flow through polished storytelling without compromising your authentic voice and style.
Whether you plan to go through the independent or traditional publishing process, you owe it to yourself to create a book of the utmost quality. Let’s get you there!
I’m happy to provide a sample edit that demonstrates the impact of developmental editing on your manuscript. I deliver an editorial review that highlights the overuse of words and terms, repetitive syntax or grammatical errors, suggested solutions, and other ways to improve your reader’s experience.
I have a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Kent State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. I also fulfill continuing education classes each year in creative writing, proofreading, editing, and story development.
The best part of my 15+ year career as an editor has been helping writers realize their lifetime dreams of publishing a book. Reading books all day and finding ways to enhance the words on the page is a challenge that I accept with great enthusiasm. Each time I get a celebratory text, email, or acknowledgment page shout-out, it feels like the very first time!
As a result of reading a consistent average of 100 books each year, I have developed a keen eye for story and am knowledgeable of what works and does not work. I am a full-time award-winning developmental editor and writing workshop instructor with a knack for big-picture storytelling. The developmental editing process delves seven layers deep to create a sturdy book structure and theme that resonates with your reader.
Together, we will approach your story from all aspects to maximize its impact and publish a book that you can be proud of.
